Glass fusing is the process of joining compatible sheet glasses together in a kiln until the glass fuses at approximately 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. I do this in my home studio in North Yarmouth, Maine. By working with cold glass in various forms I can create interesting new patterns and textures, and then slump these fused glass pieces into molds for functional art pieces like bowls, plates and platters - or cast the glass into molds for jewelry, hearts, fire trucks, and paperweights. So much fun! There’s never a shortage of fusing techniques and materials. I am inspired by vivid colors and the beauty of nature, and have such creative fun with fabric techniques such as glass quilting and other “waste not” techniques utilizing scrap glass!
